WHO IS CHARLES WINSHAW

Charles was named after his great-grandfather, William (Bill) Charles Winshaw, an American physician responsible for the creation of Stellenbosch Farmers Winery in South Africa. Bill subsequently created a vast fortune and judiciously provided for the heritage of his family.

Charles’ maternal grandfather, Professor Marius Barnard, was a pioneer in the field of health care; in his capacity as a surgeon on the world’s first heart transplant, and his achievements as the creator of critical illness insurance.
